May Photo Bomb

The warm weather finally showed up in May! We did another overnight babysitting job and took some pictures after church with the cute kiddos.

With the warm weather, we started working on some yard projects!

we sanded and stained this bench for our porch

Brodie also power washed our front wall and sidewalk. Check out the difference!

My job was to get the garden started. I planted seeds and painted these cute signs.

April Trip - Magic Mountain

We drove about an hour and half from the cruise port to meet my uncle at Magic Mountain theme park. It was the best day! Uncle Brent is always down for a day of fun and that's exactly what we had. We hit every major ride in the park - sometimes twice. Some rides had no line!

Superman was probably my favorite ride!

See? No lines!

We spent the night at Brent's hotel - we went hot tubbing and played games, which was the perfect end to the day. The next morning we left again for San Jose and stayed another night at my grandparents. From there we drove back home, just in time to start school the next day.

We pulled into Camas with no gas to spare! Made it to the gas station with "0 miles to empty".

After getting home, we set up the hammock from Mexico. It's a cozy addition to our front porch. We can't wait for our next vacation. Who knows what that will be. . . but this trip was exactly what we needed!

April Trip - Ensenada

Our last cruise port was to Ensenada, Mexico. The biggest attraction is miles from the ship, which meant we needed to take a taxi or rent a vehicle. We wanted to rent scooters, but for the price, it just wasn't worth it. We found a great deal and rented a car for the day. It was nice to drive ourselves around and follow our own schedule!

We first drove to the blowhole (La Bufadora) and street markets.

We bought a hammock swing and some art at these markets.

La Bufadora!

We then drove to a small beach that was recommended to us by someone on the ship. We were surprised that nobody else was there! We spent the afternoon in the sun with the beach to ourselves. Since the water was too cold to go swimming, we collected rocks and played in the sand.

12 rocks for the 12 Fish Family members! At this time there were officially only 11, but we were hopeful that number 12 would be coming our way soon :)

After dropping off the rental car, we enjoyed the downtown view on our walk back to the ship.

After a day in Ensenada, we had one last evening on the cruise.

I had to take a picture of this handsome guy.

The last show was a blend of all the dance/performance casts. They also selected 15 guess to be "VIP". We sat in a special section and were told to wait for instructions.

In the middle of the show, performers brought us onto the stage and we had to play along with whatever they told us to do! I had to slow dance while being serenaded to and Brodie had to dance to YMCA.

And that ended our cruise! We disembarked from the ship and then drove straight to meet my Uncle Brent at Magic Mountain.
